Cookie Policy

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy explains how EditMyPet uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser storage, pixels, scripts, and device identifiers. These technologies can remember information on your device or read information already stored there. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use any resulting personal data.

Under UK electronic-communications rules, we may use a technology without consent only where it is strictly necessary to transmit a communication or provide an online feature you requested, or another legal exception applies. We ask before using non-essential analytics or marketing technologies.

2. Categories We Use

Strictly necessary

Required for features you request or for essential security: authentication and sessions, account and checkout state, load balancing, fraud and rate-limit controls, CAPTCHA, payment processing, and storing your cookie choice. Depending on the feature, these may be set by EditMyPet or its infrastructure, payment, consent-management, and security providers. Disabling them in your browser can stop sign-in, checkout, generation, or preference controls from working.

Functional

Remember optional interface or referral choices that are not essential to the immediate request. We use these only where your consent is required and has been given, unless a specific storage item qualifies for a legal exception.

Analytics

Google Analytics and PostHog may measure page views, feature use, purchases, sign-ups, device and browser details, coarse location, performance, and errors. They load only after analytics consent. If CookieYes is unavailable or has not recorded a choice, EditMyPet keeps these integrations disabled.

Performance

Performance tools measure loading speed and reliability so we can diagnose slow or broken experiences. Vercel Speed Insights loads only after performance consent.

Google Ads conversion measurement can measure campaign outcomes and attribute sign-ups or purchases. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad-personalisation signals remain denied unless you accept the Advertisement category. We do not use these controls to make account access conditional.

3. Your Choices

You can accept all, reject non-essential technologies, choose categories, or change your mind using "Cookie Settings" in the footer or on this page. Rejecting is designed to be as easy as accepting. Withdrawing consent stops future optional storage or access; it does not make earlier consented processing unlawful. We also ask providers to honour the updated choice and remove optional cookies where the consent tool supports it.

4. Current Cookie and Tracker List

Our consent-management platform scans the configured domain and provides the current cookie and tracker names, providers, purposes, categories, and lifetimes in the preference centre. That live list supplements the category explanation in this policy and is refreshed after CookieYes scans the site.

5. Browser and Device Controls

Most browsers let you delete or block cookies and clear local storage. Those controls operate separately from our consent tool and may remove your saved choice, causing the banner to appear again. Blocking all storage can affect authentication, fraud prevention, checkout, and other requested features.

6. Changes and Contact

We update this policy and the declaration when technologies or legal requirements change. A materially new non-essential purpose will require a new choice where the law requires it. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
